A Second Chance

Last year, I was a victim of a car accident. It was a horrendous experience with a lengthy, painful recovery. In addition to suffering a broken leg and broken arm, I had major facial injuries when my face hit the steering wheel. My nose, jaw, and the socket around one of my eyes were shattered. I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. I only saw an ugly stranger. I didn’t know how I could face the world again. My best friend gave me hope when she referred me to Dr. Rod Rodrich, a plastic surgeon practicing in Dallas, Texas. I had my doubts. Any time I thought of plastic surgery, face lifts, tummy tucks, and nose jobs came to mind. However, after reading Dr. Rohrich’s book, Navigate your Beauty, I discovered that Dr. Rodrich’s area of expertise extended beyond cosmetics.

More than a Cosmetic Surgeon

When I set up my first consultation, I was immediately put at ease. With 35 years in practice, Dr. Rodrich had seen many cases that were similar to mine and assured me that he would be able to help me with reconstructive surgery in order to restore my face to its former condition. While it is true that Dr. Rodrich performs a variety of cosmetic procedures, including breast enhancements an those that concern skin aging, his skill has been called upon many times to address patients in need of plastic surgery after a serious injury or illness that has altered their appearance.

A Cut Above the Rest

People who saw me after my accident and since I went to Dr. Rodrich are stunned. The remnants of my injuries are no longer noticeable. I understand why Dr. Rodrich is considered one of the top plastic surgeons in Dallas as noted by US News and World Report, as well as other noteworthy publications. In addition to being a surgeon, Dr. Rodrich has also been a professor, sharing his knowledge with others. As the founding chair of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, his commitment to his field surpasses others. I was in the best of care with Dr. Rodrich and will always be grateful he used his competent hands to help me take my life back.

After a lengthy discussion in which I was able to voice my concerns and ask questions, I took heart that I might be able to face the world again. It has been four months since my surgery was completed and I am a true success story.
