Thor Halvorssen Discusses Socialism With Trish Regan

The rise of U.S. Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has been a major surprise to many news outlets and political experts, but Fox Business host Trish Regan has looked to examine the rise of the Vermont Senator by interviewing Thor Halvorssen. The founder of the Human Rights Foundation set out to explain his belief that socialism can be of benefit to nations in specific forms, but is also a problem when it becomes the dominant political ideology in any nation.

Thor Halvorssen revealed he has already made the maximum financial donation to the Bernie Sanders campaign after looking at the rhetoric and human rights records of the other candidates seeking the nomination for both the Democrat’s and Republican’s. Halvorssen revealed the claims of Independent Senator Sanders of socialist ideals benefiting nations around the world have been correct, but that many of those who are backing his campaign do not understand what socialism stands for in its entirety; Halvorssen referred to his own experiences in his home country of Venezuela for examples of the success that can be found with socialist ideas.

Throughout the last few decades the South American country of Venezuela has followed the lead of many countries in Europe by adapting socialist policies to fit into a more mainstream set of measures. Halvorssen went on to explain his personal experiences have also seen socialism used as a major source of domination over the people of his home nation, which has led to a loss of human rights and a growing humanitarian crisis. Thor Halviorssen explained to Trish Regan his belief that the use of socialism is often a cover for more dangerous objectives for many politicians; however, despite the problems he sees in socialism Halvorssen believes the best candidate to vote for remains Bernie Sanders over Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Sergio Cortes: A Knowledgeable Doctor and Health Expert in Brazil

Sergio Cortes is a doctor that currently resides in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is well known for reviewing many of the popular health problems that people deal with today, such as cancer, alcohol myths, and osteoporosis. He is also a tennis player who has competed in championship events.

On his website, one can find useful information that Dr. Cortes has done extensive research on. One bit of quality information on his website revolves around osteoporosis and how to prevent it. This is a bone condition in which the density of the bones becomes weaker over time. Many older people suffer from this condition and deal with brittle bones that break easily in their older years. However, there are some things that people can try to prevent this condition from affecting their lives. According to Dr. Cortes, if people are getting the right amount of Vitamin D and calcium, exercising regularly, and eating the right foods, they will have a smaller chance of dealing with osteoporosis as they get older.

Other useful information that can be found on his website is common myths about alcohol. Many people believe that drinking caffeine is going to help them deal with a hangover because it will allow the alcohol to metabolize faster, but this is not true according to Dr. Cortes. He also talks about how drinking alcohol, even moderately, can lead to the increased possibility of getting cancer and diseases. Some people also think that wine is going to benefit them in some way, but he also debunks this myth as well. While there are studies showing that drinking large amounts of wine will help break down the cholesterol stuck on arterial walls, the negative aspects of consuming this much alcohol far outweigh the benefits.

Other useful information that Dr. Cortes discusses on his website is myths about diabetes. Because diabetes is one of the most common illnesses today, many people have misconceptions about it. However, he covers some of the most useful information regarding it and educates people on the information that they need to be educated on the subject. Some people think that diabetes is contagious, which is completely false. It is a disease that develops inside one’s body over time and not something that can be transmitted to another person.

Olympic Valley Incorporation Stopped Over Taxes

California’s Local Agency Formation Commission ruled that the Olympic Valley cannot be incorporated at the present time because area residents and businesses would pay too much in taxes, according to an article in the Reno Gazette-Journal. Andy Wirth, CEO of Squaw Valley, is very excited about this development, as it paves the way for interested parties to plan exciting events showcasing this Pacific Crest region.
Children of all ages will want to come to Kid-O-Rama in February where they can view many big trucks very closely. These trucks include fire trucks, snow plows and grooming machines. Those attending this event can also play games including a scavenger hunt. Participants can also listen to musicians playing children’s songs and attend street parties.
In April, Andrew Wirth invites everyone to come to the WinterWonderGrass Bluegrass Festival. Bluegrass musicians from around the nation will perform bluegrass music on three stages. Additionally, participants can partake in a three hour beer tasting event.
Wanderlust comes to the valley in July. Andy Wirth is very committed to mindful living and the yoga studio at Squaw Valley is one of the best in the nation. During this July event, visitors can learn about yoga while also attending speakeasy talks on other mindful living topics. Food during this event will feature delicious farm-to-table selections.
The Art Wine and Music Festival comes to Squaw Valley in July. This festival is one of Andy Wirth’s favorites because it benefits Achieve Tahoe. This organization that is active year round at the resort proves that it is people’s abilities and not there disabilities that count. Andy often remarks that just a few hours spent in outdoor activities can change a person forever. During this festival, participants can listen to musical performances on two stages, taste the best wines, and purchase amazing art to fill their homes and offices.
Everyone needs to mark their calendars to attend the Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest in August. Attending this exciting festival gives people the chance to taste over 40 craft beers from throughout the region. Throughout the village, attendees can hear jazz music being played. This weekend event benefits the Humane Society of Tuckee-Tahoe.
While Andy Wirth understands the frustration of increased traffic, he reminds area residents that those attending festivals help to promote the area’s economy. Then, even better things can occur in the area.

Human Rights Foundation Superstars

People do not think about the Human Rights Foundation until they feel that their rights have been taken from them. The Human Rights Foundation is there to defend peoples’ rights and defend a liberal democracy. They are on a mission to make sure that the rights of people all around the world are upheld and they are treated with respect and dignity. Their mission is actually two fold. They are there to defend human rights and to bring light to the problems people have maintaining or attaining their personal freedom.

Human Rights Foundation Leader
The leader of the Human Rights Foundation is Thor Halvorssen. He is a fighter in the war against those that would take away the freedom of the individual. Thor Halvorssen is also a recognized film producer. Halvorssen is not the new advocate on the scene. He has had a long interest in defending the rights of the individual. It started back in London during 1989. Thor Halvorssen was a teen at that time. However, he was vehemently opposed to South African apartheid policy. It appears that taking away personal freedom hit close to home for Halvorssen. The young teen experienced his father having his personal rights taken away in Venezuela. His father became a political prisoner in that country.

The human rights issue hit close to home and this influenced his desire to protect the rights of the individuals around the world. He founded the Human Rights Foundation back in 2004. Ironically, it was his mother that influenced him to start the organization. She was shot during a political protest during that time. Halvorssen is not a stranger to the media. He has shared his view on human rights in interviews, television, and printed media around the world. Halvorssen has also produced several films on human rights. In addition, Halvorssen received an excellent education in political science and history at the University of Pennsylvania to prepare him for his leadership role with the Human Rights Foundation. Today, the Human Rights Foundation plays a very significant role in liberating political prisoners and securing human rights around the world.

Do You Wanna Help My Friend Jon? I Think You Do

Earth Force is a charitable organization based in Denver that is working tirelessly towards the realisation of an environment that is greener, healthier and cleaner than what we have now. One of my dearest friends, Jon Urbana, has joined their noble efforts by starting a campaign with his lacrosse campers at Next Level, all done via crowd funding using the Go Fund Me site. He has set a goal of getting at least $1750.

About Jon Urbana

I’ve known him for about 20 years before we went to Villanova and played lacrosse together, and Jon is not a stranger to online funding campaigns, having run another funding campaign for supporting ARAS recently. He believes in making the world a better place, with a personal website entirely dedicated to this subject matter.

Jon also uses Twitter to emphasize the amazing power the youth as well as the world’s masses hold in making these online funding campaigns successful. Through his Facebook posting, shares, likes, and more, Urbana aims at mobilizing the youth, the majority of whom follow him on Instagram as they are very active on social media.

This is the key reason why Urbana opted for funding through a crowdfunded type of online campaign – to attract the youth. He wants them to join his movement together with Earth Force Inc as participants and activists to improve the local neighbourhoods and environments. Contact Jon on Linkedin to see how you can help!

Jon Urbana is an avid Instagrammer and recently learned the art of flying an airplane. As with all things he does, he excelled to the point of an FAA award that was documented in the Aviation Business Gazette. The man makes some pretty nice music too.

On the business side of things, Jon is Next Level Lacrosse Camp’s co-founder, apart from being obviously a charity supporter. Next Level Lacrosse Camp is among Colorado’s finest summer training programs mostly for young lacrosse players.

His involvement with his campers, even making videos with them, has made Jon realise the commitment and care that the young people have towards making the environment better and cleaner. He collaborated with Earth Force Inc in order to bring more youths into the noble project, youths who in this case are ready and willing to dedicate their energy and time towards making mother earth cleaner and more beautiful.

Go Fund Me

The Go Fund Me website offers a great platform to people who wish to start their online campaigns aimed at raising funds for charitable causes. Most businesses and people are getting online nowadays due to the huge potential the online markets offer as well as social circles. This presents a good platform to create and highlight awareness on the societal and environmental issues affecting the world today.

The Cancer Fighter, Mr. Omar Boraie

It has been proven that Omar Boraie is undeniably a man worth great acknowledgment. He may merely be a real estate developer in New Brunswick, but his deeds are worth a Nobel Peace Prize. Besides being a real estate businessman, Omar is also a philanthropist.
Cancer has declared universal chaos all over the world that has led to the use of a lot of funds, time and sacrifice to curb the deadly disease. In the long run, great developments have been achieved in the medical sector and also in genomic science. This has in turn led to a change in the approach of Cancer diagnosis and also its treatment.
At the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, great enhancement in precision medicine was reached. This occurred because of a pledge made by a donor who was anonymous to the Institute. $1.5 million was put out for every new chair that was meant to bring funding to the program. In the end, the endowment was $3million for each of the 18 chairs. Out of the 18 chairs, one of them was named particularly for Omar Boraie. On his recognition, the real estate developer in Brunswick responded optimistically and in turn pledged to support the initiative and donated $1.5 million. The 18 Chair Challenge was hosted by the Rutgers University campaign to come up with financial support for one of the Cancer research programs that were meant to be more advanced.
According to Mr. Boraie, the program seemed promising and, therefore, he gave his complete support to the initiative. He even ensured that his family fully supported the 18 Chair Challenge so that others would join him in fighting Cancer. As an individual who had great experience in chemistry, Mr. Boraie, hoped that all cancer patients would get the opportunity to feel the advancements in the field of cancer therapy.
Mr. Omar Boraie has been part of the New Brunswick development affairs for quite a long time and has dedicated himself to turning New Brunswick into a Healthcare City. The MD, Institute Director at Rutgers Cancer Institute, Mr. Robert S. Dipaola was highly grateful for the support. He was aware that the donation would have a lasting impression on the cancer research as well as the cancer patients undergoing treatment. Not only would the residents of New Brunswick benefit from the advancement of the cancer research, but the whole world would benefit.
The Rutgers Cancer Institution of New Jersey became not only a Comprehensive Cancer center but also the state of the art in cancer research that is one of a kind.

3 Reasons Why It Is Really Fun to Help Others

After reading a story about a father and son tandem, who went around helping the homeless in St. Louis, it got me thinking of why I love to help others. I made a list of three reasons I love it and I think you may too!

1) We are given so much and should want to give back

My mother always told me there are people out there who have it worse than you do. She is right and we should always remember that. As we are blessed in those ways, we should always give to those less fortunate as a way of remembering how well we have it and remaining thankful.

2) It doesn’t cost anything to make a difference

Folks like Brian Torchin agree that, while monetary gifts are popular, the giving of time may be as appreciated, if not more. Almost everyone has a few extra minutes and should give it.

3) It will make you a happier person
I am never happier than when I am helping. As someone who has suffered at times with anxiety and depression, there is nothing that will raise my mood more than making a difference in someone else’s life.
