Marc Beer CEO of Renovia Inc

Marc Beer is currently serving as CEO of Renovia Inc a startup he co-founded with Ramon Iglesias, MD and Yolanda Lorie in 2016. Renovia Inc with the leadership of Marc Beer has just finished up a Series B funding campaign that raised more than $32 million dollars and along with $10 million in venture debt they will be able to fund the development and testing of four new products to help diagnose and treat pelvic floor issues. Funding was led by Perceptive Advisors based out of New York and Ascension Ventures based out of Missouri. Also joining in the Series B round of funding was Longwood Fund, a healthcare focused investing firm that was involved early on in funding for Renovia Inc. The companies first product Leva received FDA funding in April of this year and this second round of funding will in part go to developing the next generation of Leva. Leva is a device that uses interactive technology to help women improve pelvic floor strength with pelvic floor muscle therapy. It can help treat incontinence without the risks that go along with surgery or medication. Renovia Inc is committed to developing products to help “drive greater knowledge and understanding of pelvic floor disorders” such as urinary incontinence that studies have shown affect up to 250 million women worldwide. These new innovations will help diagnose and ultimately drive new treatment options, which could lead to lower healthcare costs long term.


Marc Beer brings twenty five years of experience with him to Renovia Inc. He has served as the CEO of several biopharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including ViaCell which specialized in the development of collection and preservation of umbilical cord blood stem cells. Under Beers leadership ViaCell grew to over 300 employees, went public in 2005 and was ultimately acquire by PerkinElmer in 2007. He also worked at Genzyme where he lead the charge to launch products that address rare disease population around the world. Early in his career Marc Beer held a range of sales and marketing positions at Abbott Laboratories in the pharmaceutical and diagnostic divisions.
