Lakewood Church Refuses To Preform Funeral For Gay Woman

Lakewood is one of the largest churches in the country. Joel Olsten has got quite a reputation from his “Jesus Loves” antics and preaching the gospel of joy and peace. However, he has not been far from scandal in his short career, and today proves that he may have more problems than he bargained for. The Lakewood church officially refused to do a funeral service for a member who was living a gay lifestyle. This has angered many members who believe that the churches position is not to judge but rather to show the love of God.

While Olsten himself has not made a statement on the matter, the outrage continues. Social media has lit-up with the controversy and it has many questioning the integrity of the church. After all, the good book says “Judge not lest ye be judged,” and it appears that Olsten and his establishments are taking on the act of playing God.

Still, we live in a free country where he has the right to choose to whom and what services he provides. While it may have been in poor taste, there is no law that says he has to perform the funeral. This may, however, affect his large church and their view of their pastor and what he stands for. He didn’t have to agree with the lady or her beliefs to be a man of the cloth and give her a peaceful passing, and Giofransesco Genoso is in complete support.

So let the dead bury the dead if you like, I don’t want to talk about homosexuality myself but I leave it to others. Well they be criticized as would not reject their members even if they’re gay. I don’t want a burial like others but I don’t care how I am laid to rest from this world’s trouble.
